Vandalah (Van)'s Story
Vandalah (Van) H Thompson of Valdosta Ga, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully, in Orlando FL on Feb. 26th at the age of 92.
Van is predeceased by her parents Mr and Mrs JP Hammock, her brother James Hammock and her three sisters Prudence Keeling ,Shirley Wigelsworth and Georgia Joseph
Van is lovingly remembered by John Thompson (son) and wife Joy. Dennis Thompson (son) and wife Patricia. Also by 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Van was born in Madison County FL. She graduated from Pinetta High School in 1943. Van worked throughout her life finally retiring from Gish Oil in 1989.
In addition to working selflessly to provide for her family, Van loved to read and travel, always reminiscing about the trips she took with her boys. She enjoyed going to church and for many years, she was a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.
The memorial service will be held at Madison Church of Christ, 199 NE Range Ave, Madison FL, on March 11th at 2:00pm with the minster Ray Joyner officiating.
