Mr. William G. "PeeWee" Dorminey, 82, of Adel, Georgia, passed away April 23. 2017 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. He was born on October 17, 1934 in Colquitt County to the late Willis Elbert Dorminey and Hattie Tillman Dorminey. He lived much of his life in Cook County where he was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from ITT where he worked in the paint department. Mr. Dorminey loved working in his yard and was known among his family and friends as a professional "Yardener."
Mr. Dorminey is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margie G. Dorminey of Adel; two daughters and a son-in-law: Lisa D. and Kevin Mallow of Valdosta, and Leslie Swords of Thomasville, GA; two grandchildren: Randi Elizabeth Swords and Rachel Swords, both of Thomasville; a great-granddaughter, Ava Cody of Thomasville; two brothers: James Dorminey of Ellenton, Georgia and Raymond Dorminey of Sparks, GA; and five sisters: Mary Lou Castleberry of MacClenny, FL, Holly Dean Shaw of Tifton, GA, Bessie Hall of Pelham, GA, Carolyn Norman of Norman Park, GA, and Linda Folsom of Adel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Melvis and Felton Dorminey; a sister, Flossie Dorminey; and a son-in-law, William Matthews.
The Dorminey family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.) in Adel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Antioch Church Cemetery with Rev. Christy Bandy and Dr. Gary Brady officiating.
