William "Bill" New, Sr. - 83
Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 10, 1933 in Miami, FL to the late Edwin & Margaret (Lewis) New. He served in the United States Army as an MP during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a member of Pine Grove Community Baptist Church where he was part of the church plant and served as deacon. He loved riding motorcycles, salt water fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson. He retired from Southern Bell after 38 years of service.
Survivors Include: Wife of 58 years, Janis New, Valdosta; Daughter & Sons-in-law: Amy & Clyde McClain, Dunwoody, GA, Becky & Jay Revis, Duluth, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law: William "Bill" & Jennifer New, Jr., Hahira; 7 Grandchildren: Brenna McClain, Morgan New, Cara McClain, Ashley Bilak, Jacob Revis, Noah New, Ted Bilak (Lisa); Great Grandson: Gavin Bilak; 3 Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Edwin & Carolyn New, Miami, FL, Clayton & Liz Gonzalez, Franklin, NC, Terry Gonzalez, Miami, Fl; Special Family Mention: Rhonda Burdette and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the Pine Grove Community Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services.
