Brenda Faye (Brigman) Sutton Obituary

Tallahassee, FL - Following a courageous battle with cancer, Brenda Faye (Brigman) Sutton, 79, of Tallahassee, Florida and formerly Quitman, Georgia, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at PruittHealth - Southwood in Tallahassee surrounded by family and friends.

Brenda was born on April 4, 1947, in Pinehurst, Moore County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Alberta Mae George and Coleman Ray Brigman. Brenda is survived by four children, two sisters, and several cherished friends, whose lives were deeply enriched by her presence. She was preceded in death by her former spouse, Clarence Edmondson.

Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina area, Brenda later made her home in Quitman, Georgia, where she resided for over 40 years and became a familiar and compassionate presence in the community.

Brenda dedicated over 15 years of her working life to serving others through her role with MIDS Inc. transit services. As a driver, she not only delivered meals-on-wheels but also provided medical and recreational transportation for community seniors. Her work reflected her natural inclination toward caregiving, marked by patience, kindness, and genuine concern for the well-being of others.

Outside of her work, Brenda found enjoyment in life's simple comforts. She was known for her love of country cuisine, conversation and beautiful flowers. Brenda especially enjoyed thrift shopping, where her keen eye could turn what others saw as ordinary into something truly special. Above all, she had a deep love for animals—especially dogs—and was known for her soft heart toward strays, often going out of her way to care for them.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She visited Union Baptist Church and was affiliated with New Assembly of God Church in Quitman, where she found friends, community and spiritual grounding.

Brenda will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her quiet generosity, and her unwavering willingness to help those in need. Brenda touched countless lives through her work, friendships, and loved ones. Her legacy is one of kindness, service, and love—qualities that will continue to resonate with all who knew her.
