Ray City, GA - Clara Sue Register Brunston, 44 of Ray City, formerly of Hahira passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at SGMC Hospice Valdosta after a 3-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Clara was born April 12, 1981 to the late Troy F. Register and the late Sue Barker Register.

Clara was preceded in death by grandparents, Otis Charlie "O.C." Barker and Clara Mae Dorsey Barker; & uncles, Harry, Howard, Huey, Horace, W.T., Charlie, and Johnny Barker; four aunts, Mary Barker Smith, Laine Barker Miley Griner, Linda Barker Miley, and Annabelle Barker Carter.

Clara was also preceded in death by five Barker first cousins, Dondi Scott Miley, Harry A. Barker, Judy Barker Harrell, Glenn Miley, and Michele Miley Gray.

Clara is survived by three children, daughter, Addie Anna Brunston of Hahira and Athens Ga; two sons, Lee and Caleb Brunston of Hahira; one brother, Charles Bailey (Emily Bagwell) of Lula Ga.; one niece Allison Bailey; and one nephew Walker Bailey.

Clara is also survived by 16 Barker first cousins, Wayne Barker, Donna Barker Young (Hugh), Dena Barker Chemerys (Leland), Todd Barker (Cheryl), Michele Barker Shaw (Derek), Johnny Barker Jr. (Prescilla), Tony Barker (Sharon), Landy Barker (Toni), William Barker( Donna), Lora Barker Davis (Mike), Wade Miley (Michelle), Melanie Miley Wilcox, Susan Smith Bly, Bob Smith Jr., Jenny Miley Herring (Pat), and Neal Carter (Melody); and two aunts Barbara Barker of Valdosta and Betty Barker Boyett of Nashville, Ga.

No services will be held at this time; her cremains will be spread at a later date.

Our family would like to thank Emory Hospital Atlanta, the caring team of S.G.M.C. Hospice, Erin, Chaplains Nancy and Kyle. Also, to Sandey and Jackie at Purvis Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to SGMC Hospice, or American Cancer Society.
