Mrs. Gloria Jean "Peanut" Battle was born October 31, 1949 in Valdosta, GA to the late Mr. Henry Lee and Mrs. Earnestine B. Rucker.
Gloria accepted Christ at an early age and was a graduate of Pinevale High School. She worked for Lowndes County School System as a bus driver for forty years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Vienna A.M.E. Church.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Rucker and Earnestine B. Rucker; grandson, Quinton D. Johnson.
Gloria departed this earthly journey on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, her husband, Ruben Battle; three children, Robert E. Johnson, Jr. (Aisha) of Valdosta, GA, Natarsha M. Greene (special friend, Marco Washington, Sr.) of Clarkscurg, Maryland and Owedia V. Berry (Joseph, Sr.) of Valdosta, GA; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; Also a host of other relatives and friends.
A private viewing and service will be held for family only.
