John Miles, a resident of Valdosta, Georgia transitioned from earthly life to his eternal home with the Lord on Wednesday, March 09, 2022.
John was born on June 6, 1950, the son of John Allen and Emma Baker Miles of Nashville, Georgia. As a child, he belonged St. James A.M.E. Church in Nashville, Georgia and after his marriage to Velma Perry Miles, moved his membership to Francis Lake A.M.E. Church. During years of faithful service to Francis Lake, John was a member of the Trustee Board, served as Usher and attended Sunday School. He attended Berrien County Public Schools. During his youth, John enjoyed playing drums and guitar and painting. John was a carpenter and famer. He had a deep love for his family. Each of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart and each knew they were loved by him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Miles, and his wife, Velma Miles and sister, Willie Mae McCoy.
Loving memories will be cherished by his children, Latanga (Shawn) Bryant of Jacksonville, FL; Gloria Ann (Herbert) McCoy of Nashville, Ga; John Levell (Raven) Miles, Dallas, TX; Joshua (Amber) Miles of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, ZaCourie, Mykeiah, Aniyah, Jada, Zari, Jamier, Amir, River, Kasmiere and John Paxton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Miles Baker Cemetery in Nashville, GA. Pastor Sharron Jackson, officiating.
