Kenneth Leon Poer Obituary

Valdosta, GA - Kenneth Leon Poer II, 56, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness.

Born on November 1, 1968, in Taipei, Taiwan, Kenneth was the beloved son of Joanne Marie (Heaney) Poer and the late Dr. Kenneth Leon Poer. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a participant in Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War.

Kenneth spent the majority of his professional life in the construction industry, where he was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work and found fulfillment in building, repairing and creating with his hands.

Family was central to Kenneth's life. He cherished his visits to Florida, where he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially during family reunions. He also found peace and joy at the beach.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Traci Heard-Poer of Valdosta, Georgia; his mother, Joanne Marie Poer of Sylvester, Georgia; his siblings: Yvette Poer-Cano (Henry) of Albany, Georgia and Roger Poer (Kristen) of Albany, Georgia; nephew, Curt Poer; mother-in-law, Gayle McLeod Heard of Lake Park, Georgia; numerous cousins and extended family members.

As per his wishes, Kenneth will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com.

The Poer family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
