Kenyan Devon Wright aka "KD" age 27 was born January 15, 1989 to Andrea Lavett Wright and Donnell Mathis in Adel, Ga.. He grew up on the East side of Valdosta and affectionately considered the neighbors in his community as his family. Kenyan was a loving, caring, free hearted young man who did not meet strangers. His friends, nieces, nephews and younger cousins all looked up to "KD". He was a proud father and loved spending time with his children.

On tuesday, June 14, 2016 Kenyan passed away from this life at South Georgia Medical Center. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family. Left to cherish memories of him is his mother, who he adored, Andrea Lavet Wright and father, Donnell Mathis Sr., six children, Lillian Elizabeth Shields of Valdosta, GA, Zaccaeus Emmanuel Taylor of Harrisburg, PA, Aubree Dionne Bass, Haleigh Raye Wright and Kamiel Mason Williams of Valdosta, GA, seven sisters, Regina Anderson(Marty) of Gainesville, FL, Sharon Crowder(Jewel) of Oklahoma City, OK, Tiffany Mathis of Washington State,, Sherita Wright of El Paso, TX, Kimberly Wright, Kambera Wright, Janele Davis of Valdosta, GA, three brothers, Donnell Mathis, Jr.(Janele) of Miami, FL, Ansley Antron Wright of Valdosta, GA, Martinis Wright of Stockbridge, GA, grandparents, Maggie Walker of Thomaston, GA, aunts, Annie Mae Robinson of Vero Beach, FL, Mae Helen Tyson, Martha Ponder(Ron), Betty Berrian and Jamie Christopher(Johnny Jr.) of Valdosta, GA,Shondra McGill(Centrail) of Riverdale, GA, uncles, Henry Otis Mathis of Valdosta, GA, Lee A. Wright(Andrea) of Americus, GA, and Andre Wright(Jan) of Thomaston, GA, Bruce Wright of Okeechobee, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friend(610 Ora Lee West).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Union Cathedral. Bishop Wade S. McCrae is pastor and Apostle Kathy Kinchen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. Public viewing will be Monday from 6:30 - 9 PM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Profession Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Service LLC.
