Lovie Louise Butler, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.

She was born July 4, 1954, in Deland, FL, to the late Mayo D. Foust and the late Ella Mae Williams.

Although Lovie was born in Deland, FL, she later moved to Miami, FL, where she attended Miami Carol City Sr. High.

Lovie was the mother of 3 children: Chandra Foust, Mayo Williams and Diallo Foust. In her later years, she met and married Byron Butler until his passing. She then relocated to Valdosta, GA.

Lovie was an avid sports fan and she also loved her plants. Her presence touched many lives while on her journey and she will be sorely missed by all who had the chance to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Butler; and her daughter: Chandra Foust.

Lovie leaves behind to mourn her passing and cherish precious memories, her children: Mayo D. Williams, (Tamika), Valdosta, GA, Diallo Foust, South Bay, FL; sisters: Virginia Dunson, Carolyn Dill (Henry), Paula Foust, all of Valdosta, GA Sandra West, Stone Mountain, GA and Boletha Jarrett (Donnie), Orlando, FL; brothers: Donald Foust, Fort Worth, TX, Yancy Williams (Bennetta), Lazelle Foust, all of Miami, FL; grandchildren: Shin'inec Williams, Tirik Williams, Tamya Williams, Tamia Williams, Tiana Williams, Tamira Williams, Dynovia Foust and Laniyah Foust; special nieces: Bridget Taylor, Orlando, FL, Randa Cozart and Jovann Eady, both of Valdosta, GA; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 at Godfrey Funeral Home, 636 River St. Valdosta, GA. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at Mrs. Eula C. Godfrey Memorial Chapel.
