Jacksonville, FL - Martica Ann Sharpless, 65, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away on May 24, 2025.
Martica was born on August 11, 1959 to Jack and Mary Catherine Coffey in Valdosta, Georgia. After Martica graduated from Valdosta High School in 1977, she went on to study Early Childhood Education at Valdosta State College.
After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education, she started her first job at Springfield Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher.
In 1982, Martica met Andrew Michael Sharpless at Valdosta State College. Martica and Andrew went on to have two children, Catherine and Ashley.
Martica was predeceased in death by her mother Mary Catherine Coffey and her father Jack Nelson Coffey. She is survived by her husband Andrew Sharpless, two daughters Catherine Fields (Patrick) and Ashley Sharpless, and grandson Bowden Fields (Catherine & Patrick).
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Burial will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
