Mother Carolyn Sirmans Jordan, also known as Mrs. C, entered eternal life at the age of 71 on Monday, April 20, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was born on March 28, 1949 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Hoover and Carrie Carter Cunningham.
She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church, House of Hope Atlanta in Decatur, GA where she served as a Mother of the Church.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and married the love of her life, William Jordan on October 5, 1996. She held various jobs in food service in Valdosta such as Mitchell's BBQ, the Super "S" Restaurant, which was a family owned eatery and the Big Top Deli. She eventually accepted a job with the Valdosta City Schools as a bus driver on bus #7. She also worked in the cafeteria at Valdosta High School. When she relocated to Atlanta she continued to drive the school bus and work in the cafeteria for Fulton County Schools. She eventually returned to the food service industry working for the company, Aramark where she retired after over 25 years of service.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Hoover and Carrie Cunningham, step-daughter Katie Jordan and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is survived by her husband of over 23 years, William H. Jordan III, and her four children, Felicia Regina Sirmans Cunningham, Freddie Lee Sirmans Jr., Hoover Charles Sirmans Sr. (Shayla), Erica Laverne Sirmans and one step-son William H. Jordan IV; Nine Grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Zaporia Bass, Hoover Sirmans II, Felecia Sirmans, Freddie Sirmans III, Ayana Sirmans-Fellows, Amari Sirmans, Tommy Sirmans, Cameron Sirmans, and Julia Sirmans; one special great grandchild, Christian 'CP' Hand; two God-daughters Alishia Martin and Tabitha Breeden; five sister-in-laws, Cynthia Cail, Patricia Cail, Carla Carter(Johannes), Lawanna Smith and Claudia Meade; one brother-in-law, Demetrius Jordan; special cousins, Joel and Stephanie Jackson, who were like her own children; special friends, Patricia Moore, Eddie Mae Wiggs, Elnora Howard, Betty Berrian and Maxine Turman. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she cared for dearly.
Homegoing Services will be held on May 2nd, 2020 at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Mortuary Funeral Home located at 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur GA 30034. Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm with a Graveside service at: Hillandale Memorial Gardens, 6201 Hillandale Dr, Lithonia, GA 30058
