Sharon Bennett Haskins Obituary
Tallahassee, FL - Sharon Bennett Haskins, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was 78.
Born on September 9, 1946, Sharon grew up on her family's farm in Jasper, Florida, where she was surrounded by a large extended family and the wide-open spaces that fueled her lifelong love of horses. As a young woman, she was an active member of the Hamilton County Riding Club, embracing the spirit of rural life and the strength of community that defined her upbringing.
A proud graduate of Jasper High School and Florida State University, Sharon was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority and carried with her a deep love for learning and connection throughout her life. She began her professional journey as an elementary school teacher, shaping young minds at Hamilton County Elementary and Lake Park Elementary before retiring to support her family's growing business.
For 47 beautiful years, Sharon was married to the love of her life, John Lawton Haskins. Together, they built not only a family, but a legacy—owning and operating Hardee's restaurants throughout South Georgia and North Florida for more than four decades. Sharon brought grace, dedication, and unwavering support to every aspect of their work and life together.
Sharon's happiest moments were spent with those she loved. Whether watching the sunset at Keaton Beach, reminiscing over shared stories, or simply enjoying the presence of those she loved, Sharon made every moment feel special. She had a natural warmth and playfulness that made people feel instantly at home. Her warmth, quiet strength, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kristin Haskins Campbell; son-in-law, Cannon Campbell; and granddaughters, Lawton and Ella Campbell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lawton Haskins, and her parents, John Thomas Bennett and Mildred Hunter Bennett.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 20th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at The Covey, 100 Essa Street, Lake Park, Georgia. All who knew and loved Sharon are welcome to join the family in remembering her life and legacy.
