Mrs. Valerie Elaine Nesbit Kirkland, 75, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Kirkland was born July 18, 1942, in Brunswick, Maine, to the late William James Nesbit and Isabelle McInnis Nesbit. She was a member, secretary, and treasurer of Olive Leaf Hunting Club. She had worked in administration for the AIG Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde John Kirkland, Sr., and a brother-in-law, Charles Kirkland.

Survivors are a step daughter and husband: Kathy & Gary Kirkland-Owens, DuPont, GA; step-son and wife: Clyde John "C.J." & Lisa Kirkland, Jr., Longs SC; two brothers and wives: Donald & Edwina Nesbit, Vernon, CT and William "Bill" & Nancy, Port Allegheny, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew & Allison Brown, Stephen & Traci Brown, Nicholas & Tonia Brown, Taylor Kirkland and Rhiannon & Chase Weiskopf; seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kirkland will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at11 a.m. in the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the North Cemetery, DuPont, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 till 8 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018.
