William "Billy" Cooper, Jr., 83, of Quitman passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 surrounded by his family at Fellowship Home at Brookside.

Billy was born February 23, 1941 to the late William Cooper, Sr, & Margaret Patrick Cooper. He served in the Army National Guard and was Owner and President of Patrick Furniture Company. Later becoming the Administrator of Assisted Living at the Presbyterian Home and ended his career at Turner's Fine Furniture.

Billy was a member of Quitman Methodist Church and also a board member of Ameris Bank, and the Brooks County Library Board. With Billy's busy schedule he also found time to be the President of the Brooks County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Quitman Hometown Task Force, and recipient of the Georgia Downtown Development Association.

Billy loved his family, and will be missed dearly by each and every family member and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Cooper of Quitman; sons, William "Powell" (Leigh) Cooper, III of Suwanee, GA, and Bryant (Lisa) Cooper of Valdosta; grandchildren, Emily (Ben) Fleck, Caroline Cooper, Mary Cooper, William Cooper, and Samantha Ethier; and his sister, Margie (Derry) Nichols of Kingsport, TN

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Quitman Methodist Church with Rev. Ronny Wells officiating. The family will be receiving friends after the service at the Quitman Brooks County Museum at 4:00 p.m. at 121 N. Culpepper St., Quitman GA 31643.
